PATNA: The state government would create a corpus of funds for revival of sick industries, said principal secretary, industries, Navin Verma, on Thursday.
Speaking at a meeting with members of Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI), he said a cell was being created at the Udyog Mitra wing of the industries department to facilitate the functioning of single window system.
He said that the government is prepared to give the subsidy amount to the industries payable as per 2006 Industrial Incentive Policy of the state government.
Verma exhorted the industrialists to go for investment in telecommunication and IT hardware and electronic sector in the state. He said any entrepreneur of the state could opt for setting up power plant near the sea ports where they can import coal from abroad. He asked for names of the hotels that were not given exemptions as per provisions of Bihar tourism incentive policy.
The state government has a scheme for giving 20% subsidy to entrepreneur for an investment up to Rs5 crore for setting up a mega food park. Verma said the industrialists concerned should arrange the land themselves. He said farmers want to give their land on lease for industries, but they do not want to sell it.
Verma agreed that the members from trade and industry should be included in the clarification committee set up by the state government to look into their grievances.
President of BP K Agrawal, former president O P Sah, S K Patwari and others raised the issues concerning industrial development in the state.
